Alison Cosker - Photographer
Tasmania is my home, and is my favourite of the homes I've had (there are many). I love it for its distinct four seasons. I am a girl of seasons too, so we are well-suited. I also love to fly away from the island, looking at my shoes or out the window of a plane, heart swelling with gratitude for the privilege it is to travel freely, and to come home.
I spend most of my time in Launceston, Tasmania, and live close-by to my parents and both of my siblings. I have a niece and a nephew who I spoil very much (with no end in sight). I am surrounded by wonderful and diverse people, and many of my friends have kids, which is kinda how I got myself into this world (this photo taking world) in the first place. I am a teacher. The only time I use my teacher voice at weddings is when taking a big group photo or when the groomsmen can't get their acts together.
I use lots of different methods to tell stories, but the camera is among my favourites. If you have a story to tell and you want it captured in pictures forever, I would love to be there. This might be the day you promise your love that you will always always always stay, or a regular day at home with your little people, their jam-sticky fingers and your super weird dog. Any story.
